Family Buddy Recruitment 

Summer vacation is coming. You may have enrolled your children in different interest classes’ but have you considered volunteering and serving the people in need with them? The Salvation Army Tuen Mun lntegrated Service for Young People is now recruiting ‘Family Buddy’. The programme pair participating families with solitary elderly or elderly couples living in the neighbourhood. With the help of the Army social workers, the volunteers regularly visit and meet with the elders and get to know one another, as a way to build a mutual aid network.

Details:
• Participating families to meet with social workers
• Social workers pair families with elders as appropriate, then 5 home visits will be arranged
• Regularly contact and care about the elders by home visits, phone calls and other ways
• Take part in Family Buddy gatherings at the Centre

‘Family Buddy’ Requirements:
• Proactive, responsible, dedicated to neighbourhood support
• At least 2 members of the family (including parent and children) participate in the activities
