16th April, 2010 (Friday) The Salvation Army Delivers Emergency Supplies to Qinghai Quake Survivors After the powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake on 14th April (Wednesday), thousands of earthquake survivors in the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yushu in Qinghai Province are desperate for immediate assistance. Today (16th April, 2010) Salvation Army personnel in Beijing arrived Xining, provincial capital of Qinghai Province, and prepared to deliver the emergency supplies to Yushu, the hardest-hit area, in no time. The Salvation Army has contacted with The Qinghai Provincial Department of Civil Affairs and gained the official permission to enter the affected area. Badly needed supplies such as flour for Highland Barley, warm clothes and medicine, will soon be transported to Yushu by truck.
